Whats our Story?

IT STARTED, QUITE SIMPLY, LIKE THIS...

Our flagship restaurant - Bombay Express - was established in the year 2006 at the corner of Jókai tér and Andrássy út 44. We gave the taste of India to all. Over the years we served thousands of guests and our past experiences gave us the idea to evolve……So we relaunched as Bombay Curry Bar (Andrássy 28.)

Owner

A foodie family (husband and two kids) have driven Kavita’s passion for creative cooking. Living in Budapest for over two decades and having completed a decade in the restaurant business, Kavita’s passion for food and celebration is the motivation behind the Bombay Curry Bar.

Chef Ummed Singh

Head Chef

A native of the Himachal valley in the Himalayas, Ummed has been with the Company for over 10 years. Apprenticed under culinary masters in India, Ummed quotes his Guru with reverence – ‘ As is with music, the joy is in cooking for others ‘.

Venky

Director Of Operations

Born and raised in Mumbai, Venky has been in the hospitality industry for over 30 years. An avid reader and polyglot, Venky is part of the furniture of the restaurant and also it’s lifeline. He has also completed 9 years with the company and is currently overlooking the expansion plans.
